Each contact in your Address Book can hold a first name, surname, preferred name, photo, phone number, email address, birthday, structured address, notes, relationship and groups.
When you enter a previously unknown birthday while editing a contact, the Calendar-linking option appears immediately so you can create or link the yearly birthday in the same save.
If the contact is linked to a yearly calendar birthday, correcting the birthday in Address Book updates that calendar series and keeps related preparation-task dates, Done/Skipped state, discussions and Rubbish Bin occurrence history together. If you clear the birthday and choose to remove its linked calendar birthday, the birthday and its preparation family move to the Rubbish Bin for 30 days instead of being deleted permanently.
A preferred name is used around the interface when supplied. Favourite contacts appear ahead of other contacts for quicker access.
A contact can belong to more than one group, such as Friend, UK friends and School friends.
